What is a call drink?

A call drink is a type of alcoholic beverage that is ordered by stating a specific name or ingredients to the bartender. This type of drink is called a "call" drink because the customer is "calling" out their desired ingredients for the drink.

For example, if a customer orders a "vodka cranberry" or a "gin and tonic," these would be considered call drinks. The bartender then uses the specified liquor and mixer to create the drink.

Call drinks are often more specific and customized than well drinks, which are made with the house or lower-quality liquor. Customers may choose to order call drinks for a variety of reasons, such as preference for a particular brand of liquor or a desire for a higher quality cocktail.
